Located on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, the St. Mary’s Hospital in Sechelt serves more than 33,000 year-round residents inclusive of the second-largest cohort of seniors in British Columbia.
The ingenious inspired design (by Farrow Partnership Architects and Perkins + Will) was patterned after the Bentwood box – an item unique to the Northwest Coast First Nations peoples of British Columbia.
Using the Swisspearl Carat Topaz line on the building’s the exterior, a product of various shades of earth tones, gave the building it’s organic feel.
